Research on radiometric calibration of interline transfer CCD camera based on TDI working mode (EI CONFERENCE)

Interline transfer CCD camera can be designed to work in time delay and integration mode similar to TDI CCD to obtain higher responsivity and spatial resolution under poor illumination condition. However it was found that outputs of some pixels were much lower than others' as interline transfer CCD camera work in TDI mode in laboratory radiometric calibration experiments. As a result photo response non-uniformity(PRNU) and signal noise ratio(SNR) of the system turned for the worse. This phenomenon's mechanism was analyzed and improved PRNU and SNR algorithms of interline transfer CCD camera were advanced to solve this problem. In this way TDI stage was used as a variant in PRNU and SNR algorithms and system performance was improved observably with few influences on use. In validation experiments the improved algorithms was applied in radiometric calibration of a camera with KAI-0340s as detector. Results of validation experiments proved that the improved algorithms could effectively improve SNR and lower PRNU of the system. At the same time characteristic of the system could be reflected better. As working in 16 TDI stages
PRUN was reduced from 2.25% to 0.82% and SNR was improved about 2%. 2010 Copyright SPIE - The International Society for Optical Engineering.

Image motion compensation is significantly important for aerial camera photograph. To execute the compensation
we must determine the image motion exactly. This paper proposes a method of real-time image motion measurement for panoramic aerial cameras based on image processing using a hybrid system. Two cameras are simultaneously used in the hybrid system. One main linear CCD for imaging
while the other auxiliary low resolution high frame rate area CCD for determining the image motion based on 2D spatial correlation. The demanding computational requirements for the real-time 2D spatial correlation are covered by a joint transform optical correlator. Simulation test results show that the accuracy is improved and the measurement error is within 0.2 pixels for input images with SNR=1 dB. 2010 IEEE.

Stimulated emission depletion (STED) microscopy exploits nonlinear saturable optical transition of fluorescent molecules
allowed to overcome Abbe's diffraction-limit and provides diffraction-unlimited resolution in far-field optical microscopy. We elaborate the mechanism of STED and the conditions of depletion. The formula of STED microcopy resolution is deduced through effective point spread function (E-PSF). The STED system resolution is mainly dominated by the quality of the fluorescence depletion patterns in the focal plane. The depletion pattern is mainly affected by STED beam intensity

we found related models and simulate the relationship between the depletion patterns and the parameters

In view of the current stringent need to the real-time compression algorithm of the high-speed and high-resolution image
such as remote sensing or medical image and so on
in this paper
No List SPIHT (NLS) algorithm has been improved
and a fast parallel SPIHT algorithm is proposed
which is suitable to implement with FPGA. It can deal with all bit-planes simultaneously
and process in the speed of 4pixels/period
so the encoding time is only relative to the image resolution. The experimental results show that
the processing capacity can achieve 200MPixels/s
when the input clock is 50MHz
the system of this paper need 2.29ms to complete lossless compression of a 512x512x8bit image
and only requires 1.31ms in the optimal state. The improved algorithm keeps the high SNR unchanged
increases the speed greatly and reduces the size of the needed storage space. It can implement lossless or lossy compression
and the compression ratio can be controlled. It could be widely used in the field of the high-speed and high-resolution image compression. 2010 IEEE.

In order to meet the needs of measurement of highspeed target
the timing sequence of LUPA300
an array CMOS image sensor of CYPRESS
is analyzed. The driving timing and control software is designed for the array CMOS sensor. High speed CMOS imaging system
whose hardware platform is FPGA
is emphasized. Real-time non-uniformity correction for CMOS sensor is implemented in the output stage. The experimental result shows that the system could control the CMOS sensor flexibly. The image is clear and stable. The maximum resolution of the image is 640H480V pixels and the system can operate up to 250 frames per second in full resolution. 2010 IEEE.

The main constrained problem of the video monitoring and storage system is the contradiction between large field of view and storage space limitations. Not all of the video information introduced by the image sensors need to be recorded especially for some tracking system which has appointed functions to track specifically kinds of targets.
