The performances of two steel tube enclosed precision thermistors are tested in a well controlled air environment to determine if the thermistors have enough accuracy for 0.01C levels of air temperature gradient measurement. Three Fluke's 5641 and three 5610 thermistors were tested for 24 hours in Fluke's 7008 calibration bath in the first step. In the second step  the performances of these two thermistors in steady state and transient state air temperature environments were tested for 8 hours separately. The results illustrate that  two of the 5641s were airproofed in a temperature well controlled tube  when steel tube enclosed precision thermistors are used in air temperature measurement  there are unstable departures from each other with a maximum 8.8 mC in constant air medium and 27 mC in temperature changing air medium. The transient-time errors are too large to show the true amounts of temperature changes for air temperature measurement. 2011 IEEE.

In order to put the parallel one-way hash function into engineering  two designing models based on pipeline technology are proposed in this paper. The definition of one-way hash function is shown first  and the structure and limitation of the current hash functions are discussed afterward. By analyzing the difference between parallel computation on different platforms and classifying one-way hash functions on application basis  the possibility and method of parallel one-way hash function designing on different hardware platforms are described  two designing models are constructed for the parallel one-way hash function designing. Finally  some attentions for designing are proposed from the engineering angle. The pipeline models that proposed in this paper contact the theoretical rationality and the engineering application of parallel one-way hash function together  which can improve the practicality of parallel one-way hash function to a great extent. 2010 IEEE.

In high precise surface testing  temperature stability and uniformity are of paramount importance to the high accuracy of test results. Micro-temperature variation and temperature gradients not only cause the change of the air refractive index and lead to the optical path variation in interferometer cavity  but also result in deformation of the tested surface itself  which always brings about errors to the test results. Temperature effects on the interferometer cavity and the tested surface are analyzed from the axial and radial directions in this letter. Temperature model of the interferometer cavity and the tested lens are established and quantitative calculations and diagram of test results versus temperature and lens dimension are provided. It shows that temperature gradients effect increase with the length of the interferometer and the dimension of the tested lens. The interferometer cavity is mainly affected by radial temperature gradients while the tested lens is mainly affected by the axial temperature gradients. 2010 Copyright SPIE - The International Society for Optical Engineering.

Image fusion refers to the integration of complementary information provided by various sensors such that the new images are more useful for human or machine perception. Multiwavelet transform has simultaneous orthogonality  symmetry  compact support  and vanishing moment  which are not possible with scalar wavelet transform. Multiwavelet analysis can offer more precise image analysis than wavelet multiresolution analysis. In this paper  a new image fusion algorithm based on discrete multiwavelet transform (DMWT) to fuse the dual-spectral images generated from the corona detection system is presented. The dual-spectrum detection system is used to detect the corona and indicate its exact location. The system combines a solar-blind UV ICCD with a visible camera  where the UV image is useful for detecting UV emission from corona and the visible image shows the position of the corona. The developed fusion algorithm is proposed considering the feature of the UV and visible images adequately. The source images are performed at the pixel level. First  a decomposition step is taken with the DMWT. After the decomposition step  a pyramid for each source image in each level can be obtained. Then  an optimized coefficient fusion rule consisting of activity level measurement  coefficient combining and consistency verification is used to acquire the fused coefficients. This process reduces the impulse noise of UV image. Finally  a new fused image is obtained by reconstructing the fused coefficients using inverse DMWT. This image fusion algorithm has been applied to process the multispectral UV/visible images. Experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms the discrete wavelet transform based approach.
