英文摘要	直到19世纪70年代，日本官方在各种文件中仍承认独岛为韩国的领土。20世纪初，日本军国主义在发动大规模侵略战争期间强行将独岛划归日本所有（日本称“竹岛”）。二战结束后，朴正熙执政期间，由日方提出的独岛归属问题成为韩日双方争论的焦点。整个冷战期间，由于韩日两国都是美国的重要盟国，每当韩日两国出现岛争问题时，美国表面上总是持中立态度，实际上存在着听信日本一面之词而混淆是非的问题。韩日岛争的问题不只是领土归属问题，也是一个是历史认识问题。同时，韩日岛争不仅是韩日两国间的问题，也应该加上美国因素，在东北亚国际关系的框架下考察这一历史遗留问题才是恰当的。美国作为调解者，理应选择历史上独岛主权归属韩国的立场，客观公正地解决韩日两国之间的岛争。; Japan had admitted that Dokdo belonged to Korea in various ocial documents until the 1870s. How-ever, in the early 20th century, Japanese militarism forcibly placed Dokdo into Japanese territory as“Takeshima”in a large-scale war of aggression. After World War II, under the government of Park Chung-hee, the ownership of Dokdo became a focus of debate between Korea and Japan. Throughout the Cold War, the United States kept a neutral stand seemingly whenever the island dispute appeared between South Korea and Japan, as the two of them were important U.S. allies by then; while in fact, it believed what Japan said one-sidedly that confused right and wrong. The island dispute between South Korea and Japan was not simply a territorial attribution but the understanding of history. Meanwhile, the island dispute was not simply the problem between South Korea and Japan, the U.S. should be taken into account; and it is proper only when the historical issue is taken into account under the framework of international relations in Northeast Asia. The U.S., as a mediator, should keep a standpoint that Dokdo belongs to Korea in history, and resolve the island dispute between South Korea and Japan ob jectively and fairly.; 0; 5; 34-41
