英文摘要By periodic variation of electric field, the converse piezoelectric effect of piezoelectric ceramics can generate vibration of vibrating rod, which drives the liquid to jet from nozzle outlet and becomes discrete micro droplets. A device of micro-droplet jetting was built based on this principle in this paper. The mechanism of formation of liquid droplets was discussed and jetting tests were performed. The results show: this device can generate discrete micro droplets, which can be used to rapid prototyping manufacture; the deposited parts has good controllability of precision in length and thickness and the precision of linear scanning is within 0.1mm; the appropriate diameter of vibrating rod and its clearance with hopper tube are 1.88mm and 0.12mm, respectively. © 2010 IEEE.
