英文摘要 | Cold-formed steel stud composite walls are main component of light weight steel housing, and it is important to learn the shear resistance of the wall. A finite element method (FEM) was developed to simulate the behavior of the cold-formed steel stud composite walls under static loading using ANSYS. The materials and geometric nonlinearity were considered. The single-gypsum and columns are simulated by shell elements, and the screws connecting sheathing and frame are modeled by coupling methods. The FEM results are agreed well with the others' experimental results. Parameter analysis was performed to investigate the performance of the composite wall with or without holes. The height and width of the holes are main parameters. It is shown that the bearing capacity of cold-formed steel stud walls mainly depend on the columns, and the bearing capacity of the walls with holes are increased since the beam which is used to strengthen the hole. The strength of the wall will increase obviously when the columns around the holes are strengthened, and decrease with the incremental width of the hole in the walls. It is no distinct difference for the wall under the same width and various height of the hole. |
