英文摘要It is one of recommended form for steel frames in earthquake area that used reinforced connections to form strong column-weak beam and make plastic hinge appear at the beam. This paper selected three reinforced connections, one fully welded connection, and the other connections with top beam flange with cover plates or bottom beam flange with haunches, used finite element analysis the performance under monotonous and cyclic loading. It was found that the main factor of brittle fracture of the connections is to form serious stress concentration and triaxial high stress. The reinforced connections can get obvious improvement in the force condition of beam flange in butt weld. Ductility of the connections can be obtained to ensure. By means of reasonable designing, the beam ultimate plastic rotation of connection with top beam flange cover plates is larger than 0.030. The increase in bearing capacity of two reinforced connections is over 25%.
