英文摘要Free vibration of a laminated circular cylindrical shell is studied. The inner and the outer layers of the shell are comprised of the same homogeneous material but the middle layer is made of an functionally graded material whose Young's modulus varies either as a linear or as a quadratic function of the coordinate in the thickness direction. Governing equations for the vibration, in terms of the displacements in the radial, the circumferential and the axial directions, are derived on the bases of F Flugge's shell theory. Natural frequencies corresponding to different modes for different values of geometry parameters and the gradation of material properties are computed, and compared with those available in the literature. Characteristic relations between the natural frequency and the radius-to-thickness ratio are obtained for various values of material parameter. Effects of geometric, material parameters on the natural frequency are examined. Numerical results show that the natural frequency decreases with an increase in the radius/thickness ratio, and increases with an increase in the rigidity ratio.
