英文摘要	Due to frequent spills of oil and gas pipelines in the transportation process, several domestic and international oil and gas pipeline leak monitoring methods have been introduced. This paper analyzes the oil and gas pipeline leak monitoring and positioning methodologies and compares their usage using network search tools Monitoring methods are primarily divided into direct-monitoring techniques and indirect-monitoring techniques. 18 types of monitoring methods were analyzed and compared using factors such as adapting conditions, positioning accuracy and response time. It was found that commonly used monitoring methods have poor monitoring accuracy and large positioning errors, which is inadequate to meet the demands of domestic and international pipeline operating companies; which require monitoring methods containing accurate positioning and high sensitivity.
