英文摘要During the past decades, nonlinear optical (NLO) materials have attracted special interest because of their potential applications in photonic devices, such as optical switching, frequency conversion and electro-optic modulators. Among the finding ways to obtain excellent NLO materials with both large NLO response and short response time, the most common approach is to design and prepare new materials by combining conjugated materials with metal nanoparticles. The presence of metal nanoparticles can significantly enhance optical nonlinear responses, thermo-optical effect, Raman and luminescent emissions of composite systems because of the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) in metal nanoparticles. Metal nanoparticles, therefore, have attracted lots of interest for their fascinating optical and electronic properties. The SPR in metal nanoparticles mainly depends on the metal material, particle size, particle shape and surrounding matrix. So their nonlinear optical properties can be easily adjusted for specific applications. Recently, Cai et al. have done a remarkable work, and have shown the electrically controlled nonlinear generation of light with plasmonics, which is expected to be of great use in many plasmonics based NLO devices. Janssens's group 9 have studied the nonlinear absorption of Ag atomic clusters and nanoparticles dispersed in a transparent oxyfluoride glass host and these properties are promising for applications in optical limiting and object's contrast enhancement.
