英文摘要	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the reading speed and to attain a microminiaturization by integrally packaging plural vertical cavity surface emission lasers and a holographic optical element, thereby constituting a parallel reading data pickup head. SOLUTION: The parallel reading data pickup head assembly 40 is constituted by housing an array of, for example, 10 pieces of the 780-mn vertical cavity surface emission lasers(VCSEL) 33, photodetectors 39, etc., in an integrally molded package 32. The head part of the package 32 has a transparent base part 28 and the holographic optical element 31 corresponding to the respective VCSELs 33 is formed therein. The holographic optical element 31 acts to divide the laser beams from the VCSELs 33 into three parts like an objective lens and a quarter-wave plate and focuses the laser beams on the recording surface of a compact disk 35. The photodetectors 39 are inputted differentially with the reflected laser beams from the recording surface of the compact disk and output the error signals of the focus and tracking.
