英文摘要	PURPOSE:To suppress the change in the optical coupling state of an optical element and an optical fiber by forming such a detaining part which prevents the joining material packed into the hole of an adjusting rod from moving in the extending direction of the hole to said hole. CONSTITUTION:The part near the optical coupling end of the optical fiber 11 the optical coupling end at the front end of which is disposed opposite to a laser diode chip is inserted into the hole 18 bored in the adjusting rod and is fixed by the resin packed in the hole 18. The hole 18 provided to the adjusting rod is tapered 33 to expand gradually outward at both ends thereof. The resin packed in the hole 18 is packed into this tapered part 33 as well and cures; therefore, the detaining parts 34 to a large outside diameter are respectively formed to both ends of the fixing material 15 formed by curing of the resin. The always the specified spacing between the laser diode chip 6 and the optical fiber 11 is maintained in this way and the deterioration of the optical coupling state is prevented.
