英文摘要	PURPOSE:To obtain advantages in that internal wiring is easy, it is suitable for high speed operation, and the precision of temperature measurements is excellent by forming a semiconductor laser, chip carriers, metal bases, lens for condensing light, and front end portion with optical fibers protected with metal tubes. CONSTITUTION:A semiconductor laser 1 as well as a photodiode 5 for monitor are mounted on a base 4 via a heat sink 2 and a chip carrier 3. The base 4 contains a lens 7, and an optical fiber 20 is fixed on a base end portion 4' by a slide ring 8. Because of this series of structures, in wiring inside a case, connection between a planar electrode surface and the top surface of a pole, which are prepared for each part, is easy. It is also suitable for high speed operation. Since a thermistor 6 is mounted adjacent to the semiconductor laser, the temperature measurement of the semiconductor laser can be made precisely. This makes it possible to obtain advantages in that internal wiring is easy, it is suitable for high speed operation, and the precision of temperature measurements is excellent.
