英文摘要	PURPOSE:To reproduce a picture having high quality by adjacently mounting a laser diode chip emitting light and a diode chip, which does not emit light, onto the same heat sink. CONSTITUTION:A heat sink 22 is set up onto a base 20 in a composite diode 18, and a laser diode LD and a diode (an equivalent diode) ED, which does not emit light, are disposed adjacently onto the heat sink 22. The thermal resistance of the laser diode LD and the equivalent diode ED takes an equal value at that time. Consequently, the thermal stability of the diodes can be improved. Each diode is differential-driven by a differential type circuit. Accordingly, the quantity of the temperature change of the laser diode LD is minimized, and a droop resulting from a temperature change and the variation of the wavelength of emitted light can be reduced remarkably. Since the symmetry of the whole differential type circuit including the composite diode 18 is further improved, the laser diode can be driven at higher speed.
