Development and application of underwater oil spill visualization simulation system for deepwater zone

英文摘要For the sake of controlling oil spill pollution occurring during exploration and development of gas and oil fields in deepwater zone, the first three-dimensional visualization simulation system of underwater oil spill in deepwater zone in China was developed, which comprises the three-dimensional ocean current prediction model, the deepwater oil spill model, the three-dimensional visualization simulation system and the database. The ocean current prediction model based on the ROMS mode guarantees the accuracy of prediction result by considering wave-induced mixed influences and using the optimal interpolation technique to assimilate satellite altimetry data and nesting technology. The deepwater oil spill model is composed of the plume model and the advection diffusion model, having considered the complex processes like entrainment, oil-gas separation, dissolution, hydrate formation, drifting and diffusion. The system can predict the behavior and fate processes of underwater leaked oil and gas in deepwater zone and provide three-dimensional visual dynamic simulation results of particle size, distribution, movement speed, drifting trajectory, diffusion area, residual volume of water-body spilled oil and water-surface spilled oil volume of oil, gas and gas hydrate. Currently, this system has been applied to the exploration and development of oil and gas fields, providing important support for deepwater oil spill emergency response.
