英文摘要 | The superior GMA-type acrylic resin for automobile powder coating can be obtained by the conventional free radical solution polymerization method, using MMA, BA, GMA, and HEMA as monomers. After investigation, we made a final selection of synthesis technics, e.g. BPO as initiator, toluene as solvent, 110degreesC - 120degreesC, reacting over 6 h, continuous dropping method and proper post-treatment method. Various factors which will influence the characteristics of the resin, e.g. copolymer composition, molecular weight and its distribution, softening point, glass-transition temperature, epoxy value, solid content, have been analyzed in detail by various analytical methods, e.g. GPC, DSC, as well as chemical methods. Copolymer composition and epoxy value were easily controlled by monomer proportion due to similar monomer reactivity. With increasing Initiator concentration and solvent quantity, monomer weight and softening point decreased.
