英文摘要Self-assembled hollow microspheres of conductive poly( m-toluidine) (PMT) were simply synthesized by a template-free method in the presence of ammonium peroxydisulfate (APS) without adding an acidic dopant. The average diameter and the average shell thickness of the PMT hollow microspheres were measured to be 2 mu m and 140 nm, respectively. Although without adding acids as the dopants, it has been demonstrated that the PMT hollow microspheres are identical to the conducting state of PMT due to proton (H(2)SO(4)) produced during the polymerization, which are conformed by FTIR, UV-Visible spectroscopy and room-temperature conductivity measured by the four-probe method, especially the pH value in reaction solution decreases with increasing the polymerization time. It was proposed that a spherical micelles composed of m-toluidine in aqueous solutions is served as a soft-template in forming the PMT hollow spheres via a self-assembly process.
