英文摘要Calcium carbonate (cc) has different polymorphs and morphology. polymers act an important role in the precipitation process to control the crystal polymorphs and morphology of cc. the various polymers such as biopolymers, double hydrophilic block copolymers and dendrimers being used or studied in the preparation of cc are introduced and the existing problems and shortcomings are reviewed. we also discuss the synergistic effects of polymers and other additives on the controlled growth of cc. the studies of cc can help us prepare different cc for industrial demands, improve our understanding of the mechanisms of biomineralization and provide another improved strategy for the biomimetic preparation of functional materials.
