英文摘要Abstract—Childrenwithautism spectrum disorder(ASD) havedifficultiesinemotionalprocessing.ChildrenwithASD seem tohavedifferentcognitivepatternsduringmultimodal emotionrecognitioncomparedwithtypicallydeveloping(TD) children.Inordertoexplorethedifferences, inthecurrent study, perceptualjudgmentdataandeyegazedatawhile watchingtheecologicalvalidfacialstimuliwereanalyzed. The perceptual judgment could intuitively reflect the perception deficits in ASD,and the eye trackercould accuratelytracktheirfixationandscanpathsduringemotion perception.Perceptualresultsindicatedthatchildrenwith ASD had more difficulties in emotion recognition in comparison with TD children, especially for negative emotions.Eyegazeanalysisalsoshowedthatchildrenwith ASD had decreased fixation duration on the areas of interests(AOIs)comparedtoTDchildren, yettheyseemed topaymoreattentiontonegativefacialexpressionsthanto positive ones.Furthermore, the trajectory ofeye gaze movementshowed difference patterns between children withASDandTDchildren.TheTDchildrenhavedynamically changedtheirgazedirectionsfrom oneregiontotheother, whilemostofthechildrenwithASDonlytendedtofocuson one particular region. These results may deepen our understanding of the multimodal emotion recognition pattern in the ASD cohort with a more natural communicationenvironment.
