英文摘要A numerical approach without interface element (contact surface) is presented in the paper to calculate the response of a long concrete pile (cast in place) under axial loading. Comparisons between measured load-settlement data and numerical results were made. Discrepancies between measured data and numerical results guided the investigation of the factors that govern the pile-soil interactions. The results of numerical analysis showed that there is no need for interface element. Soil disturbance and clay skin formed in the construction process of the pile must be taken into consideration.
