英文摘要Circulating fluidized bed combustion (CFBC) fly ash is mixed with cement in a different ratio for use as a stabilizer to stabilize lake sludge. Four different ratios (in wt%: 6%, 9%, 12% and 15%) of the stabilizer with different ratio of CFBC fly ash /cement (60:40, 50:50, 40:60, 0:100) are mixed with lake sludge to make stabilized samples. In order to understand the influences of admixtures on the lake sludge properties, tests of the compaction test, unconfined compressive strength and SEM observation are performed. Test results show that in term of compactability, the maximum dry densities of the specimens increase as more admixtures (between 6% and 12%) are added, however, the dry side density is decreased for the 15% admixture. At the same curing time and content of the stabilization materials, the strength of the specimens is decreased with the increasing of the CFBC fly ash/cement ratio. Also it can be observed that the optimum ratio between CFBC fly ash and cement is 2:3. The hydration products from cement and CFBC fly ash, i.e. C-S-H gel and the AFt crystal act as binder to solidify those particles together and fill in the packing void of the aggregates.
