英文摘要	覃红霞，厦门大学高等教育质量建设协同创新中心副教授，教育学博士；陶涛，厦门大学研究生院常务副院长、教授，理学博士；王晟，厦门大学研究生院秘书。; 【中文摘要】中国早期研究生教育的实践始于民国时期。厦门大学于1926年成立国学研究院开始招收研究生，开启了我国私立大学举办研究生教育的历史。实际运作的厦门大学国学研究院以北京大学研究所国学门为样本，但在研究生教育机构的定位、学费、课程、特点等方面与同一时期的北京大学、清华大学有一定的差异。国学研究院的早期探索虽在短时期内结束，但厦门大学研究生教育的努力并没有停止，这也为新中国成立后厦门大学的研究生教育打下了基础。 【Abstract】The practice of China's early graduate education began in the period of the Republic of China. In 1926， Xiamen University founded an Institute of National Studies which recruited graduate students，marking the commencement of graduate education in private universities in China. The operations of the Institute of National Studies at Xiamen University followed the example of the Institute of National Studies at Peking University. However，in terms of orientation，tuition，curricula and characteristics， the graduate education institute at Xiamen University differed from its counterparts at Peking University and Tsinghua University. Although the early exploration by the Institute of National Studies at Xiamen University ceased shortly afterwards，Xiamen University’s endeavors in graduate education continued，laying the groundwork for the development of its graduate education after the founding of New China in 1949.; 中央高校基本科研业务项目“发展理论视野下的中国高等教育现代性研究”（zk1005)
