英文摘要A novel design of an electrolytic flow-through cell with zigzag micro-channels machined into the surfaces of the anode and cathode for electrochemical hydride generation (EcHG) is described The microchannels 1mm wide x 1mm depth, total length 72 mm for the experimental cell, or 0.072 ml volume) allow the sample and electrolyte solutions to pass through for the hydride generation. With a pyrolytic graphite cathode, the efficiency of hydride generation from As(III), Se(IV) and Sb(III) was 90%, 95% and 93%, respectively. Detection limits of 0.5 ng mL(-1), 0.2 ng mL(-1), 0.6ng mL(-1), and 0.8ng mL(-1) for determination of As, Se, Sb and Hg, respectively, were obtained using a hollow cathode lamp excited non-dispersive atomic fluorescence spectrometer for detection.
