中文摘要古建筑的屋顶规模与形状因建筑的平面、规模、构造方法等的不同而差异很大,但是随榑(或桁)的上、下、左、右位置确定建筑高度的方法是大木作做法采用的基础方法。通过分析各时期具有代表性的建筑中叉手与托脚的使用情况,发现随着明代的梁变大,斗栱变小而榑的位置越来越跟梁相接,在结合部位的榫卯部分形成防止樽(或桁)推出去的鼻子部分之后,榑(或桁)已经不需要托脚这个构件支撑了。因而,梁和榑(或桁)结合点的位置随时代而变化,明代以后梁架的鼻子部分准确地固定桁,这些说明鼻子的形成是引起托脚消失的一个主要原因。; Roof design in traditional architecture varies greatly depending on the size and shape of the ground plan,proportions,and construction methods.However,it is common practice in greater carpentry to determine the height of the building through the placement of roof rafters(tuan also known as heng) at the upper,lower,left-and rightside positions.Through chronological analysis of the use of chashou(fork-like braces) and tuojiao(inclined struts),the author discovered that by the Ming dynasty,when the size of beams had increased and the size of dougong(bracket sets) decreased,roof rafters and beams became more closely related.The mortise-and-tenon joints(sunmao) that connected them formed noses to prevent the rafters from lateral movement,making the use of inclined struts unnecessary.The beam-rafter joints improved over time,and after the Ming dynasty,the beam noses came to fix the rafters-which shows that the formation of beam noses was the main reason for disappearance of tuojiao.
