中文摘要	本文以中美两国地方领导者——省委书记、省长和州长为研究主体,从领导者的个人特征、成长过程与其领导力发展关系的角度去探索领导者领导地位的获得是否存在统一的驱动力,是否具有共同的发展模式和规律。文章通过对中美地方领导者三个集中反映成长路径的指标——人口统计特征、受教育程度和职业发展路径的对比分析,发现即使两国的制度环境和文化背景存在差异,但领导者自身的成长路径和领导力发展的模式和过程大同小异,能否在后天的成长过程中顺应国内政策发展和需求,不断调整方向和提升自身水平是关键。; This essay selected the American and Chinese local leaders as the subject of research,comparing that if there is a regular pattern when leaders gaining their leadership.The analyses include three aspects,which are demographic characteristics,educational attainment and career path of these local leaders in both countries.By comparing these three aspects between America and China,this essay finds that even though the institutional environment and culture background are different,the relationship between the growth path and leadership development of the two countrieslocal leaders are similar.For the local leaders,trying to make their own development meet the needs of domestic policies and constantly adjusting their growth direction are the key elements in the process of leadership development.
