中文摘要The Shangdu and Tuoketuo of Inmongolia in China transmission systems use relatively high compensation levels of fixed-series capacitors which results in sub-synchronous resonance (SSR). This issue is hard to correct because of the multiple unstable SSR modes. This paper presents a study of a specific Shangdu transmission system. The eigenvalues were analyzed to investigate the basic mechanism and the main causes of the multi-mode SSR. Supplementary excitation damping control was then used to solve the problem with optimal control parameters obtained using a genetic, simulated annealing algorithm. An eigen-analysis and PSCAD/EMTDC-based simulations verify the effectiveness of the damping control for mitigating the multi-mode SSR and its adaptability to various power systems and operating conditions.
