中文摘要	The capacities of multi-input-multi-output (MIMO) systems with parallel minimum-mean-square-error (MMSE) or zero-forcing (ZF) detectors are studied in this paper. An analytical solution for the capacity of a MIMO system with a simplified receiving algorithm was used to analyze the outage probability in terms of the signal to noise ratio, the number of antennas and the transmission rate. To obtain an outage probability of 10/sup -z/ at a transmission rate of 4 b, s/sup -1/, Hz/sup -1/, the signal power required at a single transmission antenna is 20 dB for 2-in-2-out MIMO systems with MMSE receivers, and less than 2 dB for 4-in-4-out MIMO systems. The analysis shows that the outage probability for MIMO systems with MMSE receivers is similar to that for MIMO systems with ZF receivers for certain transmission rates. Furthermore, the transmission rate for which MMSE and ZF receivers have similar outage probabilities is large for MIMO systems with a large number of antennas.
