中文摘要XML plays a role of bridge for publishing and sharing data on the Web because of its feature of enabling present the semantic of data. So, it is possible to exchange and interfuse distributed heterogeneous data conveniently by means of Web and XML. In this paper, we propose that the first and most important step of exchanging and interfusing data of different relational schema is evaluating the semantic based equivalence of them. We also present a set of definitions about equivalence between relational schemas, as well as its features (reflexivity, transitivity, symmetry). We define relational schema descriptor (RSD), which is a XML-based metadata in XML, and its DTD. At last, we propose and implement the algorithm. Based on the mechanism, we convert and compare between relational schemas into the compare between RSDs.
