中文摘要2μm波段激光在水中的吸收系数高、大气传输性好以及对人眼安全,因此在医疗军事等方面均有重要应用。Tm:YAP晶体由于其吸收峰与商用二极管匹配良好、交叉弛豫量子效率接近于2、上能级寿命长、热力学性能良好等特性,极有利于输出高功率、线偏振的2μm激光。近年来国内外对Tm:YAP激光器进行了广泛深入的研究并已取得了许多令人瞩目的成果。目前Tm:YAP激光器的最大输出功率为50W,最小激光阈值仅为10mW。 本论文采用中心波长为795nm的激光二极管作为泵浦源,以平行平面腔的结构,用端面泵浦的方式对不同浓度的Tm:YAP晶体进行了激光实验。在1at.%、4at.%、5at.%、15at.%四种掺杂浓度下分别得到了不同功率的激光输出。其中在4at.%掺杂浓度下得到了15W的最大输出功率,为目前国内报道的最高水平;并在国际上首次用15at.% Tm:YAP晶体在连续泵浦和脉冲泵浦两种方式下都得到了2μm的激光输出。 论文还对Tm:YAP激光器的速率方程进行了数值计算,从理论上模拟了不同浓度Tm:YAP的激光输出特性,并提出了高掺杂的Tm:YAP晶体更适合用于实现高重复频率脉冲激光器的结论。 另外论文探讨了固体激光器散热系统中激光晶体板条与热沉焊接的工艺方法,分别介绍了采用铟焊和金锡焊两种焊料进行焊接的工艺流程。
英文摘要Solid-state lasers operating in the 2-μm waveband have many significant applications both in medical surgery and military affairs, as this is an eye-safe wave-band that offers the possibility of atmospheric propagation and coincides with the wavelengths of high absorption in water. Thulium tervalent ions doped YAlO3 (YAP) crystal, with the characteristics of the absorption peak matching well with the commercially available laser diodes, high efficiency induced by ‘one-to-two’ cross-relaxation, long fluorescence lifetime and high thermal conductivity etc., benefits to high-power, linear-polarized lasers in 2-μm wavelength region. Over the recent years, extensive and in-depth researches of Tm:YAP lasers have been carried out and achieved some important results. To date the maximum output power of Tm:YAP laser is 50W and the minimum laser threshold is 10mW only. In this research, we presented the experimental investigation on the Tm:YAP lasers with different thulium doped concentrations and specialized crystal dimensions. A laser diode array (LDA), with the centre wavelength of 795 nm, was adopted for the end-pumped and parallel-plane cavity configuration. We have obtained the laser emission at the doping concentration of 1at.%, 4at.%, 5at.% and 15at.%, respectively. A maximum 15W of 4at.% Tm:YAP laser was obtained, which is the highest level in domestic report. Otherwise, a maximum 20mW of 15at.% Tm:YAP laser, which is the first demonstration of laser emission for Tm:YAP crystals with the doping concentration higher than 5at.%, was achieved. Relative work of numerical calculation had also been carried out in this research. The rate equations of Tm:YAP lasers were numerical calculated and the laser characteristics of different doping concentrations Tm:YAP were simulated. A conclusion that heavy doping Tm:YAP is more suitable to carry out the high-repetition-rate pulsing laser was put forward. Otherwise, we discussed the technics of crystal slab soldering with heat-sink in solid-state lasers, and presented the two kinds of soldering process with Indium solder and Au80Sn20 solder respectively.
