中文摘要三阶非线性光学性质的研究是非线性光学中的一个重要部分,自非线性光学诞生以来它一直受到人们的重视,它是探索新材料在非线性光学器件上应用的基础工作.被动光学限幅器是一种能对激光强度进行控制的用于保护光学传感器和人眼免受激光损害的非线性光学器件,对它的研究自激光诞生就开始了,并且随着激光技术的发展,世界上许多国家对这一研究不断地投入越来越多的人力和财力.所以对材料的三阶非线性光学性质以及被动光学限幅器的研究具有十分重要的意义.金属有机化合物以及铁电材料是近年来三阶非线性光学材料研究的热门领域,该文对这一领域中几种新型的金属有机化合物以及铁电材料的三阶非线性光学性质和光限幅效应进行了研究,并在此基础上设计了一种动力学范围很宽的可见光波段被动光学限幅器.该文主要开展了如下几个方面的研究工作,取得了若干创新性成果,并在国内外重要刊物上发表10余篇相关学术论文.第一,利用单光束Z-扫描技术,研究了Ni-Azo薄膜、BTNP-SubPc薄膜、octa-PdPc溶胶凝胶、SBT和PT铁电薄膜材料的三阶非线性光学性质,得到的新的实验结果和新的发现在非线性器件应用上具有重要的意义.第二,首次研究了BTNP-SubPc薄膜、octa-PdPc溶胶凝胶、SBT和PT铁电薄膜材料的光限幅性质,为探索这些材料在光限器方面的应用提供了有价值的参数.第三,首次设计了一种夹心式的可见光波段的被动光学限幅器,对光学传感器的保护具有重要实际应用价值.
英文摘要Investigation on third-order nonlinear optical properties is one of the important branches in nonlinear optics. It has been receiving much attention since the naissance of nonlinear optics. It is a fundamental work of exploring novel materials for nonlinear optical devices. A passive optical limiter is a nonlinear optical device that can protect sensors and human eyes from laser induced damage by attenuating laser intensity. The research work on optical limiters started soon after laser appeared. In addition, with the development of laser techniques, many countries in the world continually launch more and more scientists and funds into this work. Therefore, investigations on third-order nonlinearities of materials and passive optical limiters are of very important significance both theoretically and practically. Organometallic complexes and ferroelectric oxide materials have extensively studied as third-order nonlinear optical materials in recent years. In this paper, we investigated third-order optical nonlinearities and optical limiting effects of several such novel materials. Based on these investigations, we designed an optical limiter for visible light of lasers, which is very useful for sensor protection and promoting the technique of passive optical limiters. Summarily, We have done some researches on the following aspects, obtaining some novel and innovative results reported in about 10 papers in the national or international important journals. Firstly, we investigated third-order optical properties of Ni-Azo coating film, BTNP-SubPc coating film, octa-PdPc sol-gel, SBT and PT deposited films by means of Z-scan technique. Some obtained novel results and findings are significant for nonlinear optical device applications, In off-resonate region with 1.064 jam 38 ps pulses excitation, azo nickel (Ni-Azo) chelate compound was found self-defocsing and two-photon absorption (TPA) Combining Z-scan theory with experimental data, we obtained that nonlinear refractive indexes of Ni-Azo solution and film were 3.9 * ~(-14)m2/W and 3.1 * 10~(-10) 'W/W, respectively. The real parts of their third-order nonlinear susceptibities were 1.3 * 10~(-14) esu and 1.4 * l0~(-10) esu, respectively. In resonate region with 532 run 38 ps excitation, Ni-Azo was found self-focusing and reverse saturable absorption (RSA). We derived a few relations that the excited state absorption cross section and the related nonlinear refractive cross section as well as the effective nonlinear refractive index and its real part were obtained directly from Z-scan data. They were 1.6 * 10~(-18) cm2, 2.7 * l0~(-18) cm2, 4.43 * 10~(-8) esu and 9.05 * l0~(-9) esu, respectively. To our knowledge, no investigation on third-order nonlinearities has ever been reported. Our studies in this section were published in optics Communication. Third-order nonlinear optical properties of a novel compound bromoboron trineopentyloxy-subphthalocyanine (BTNP-SubPc) film were investigated via Z-scan technique with 38 ps laser pulses. It was found self-defocusing. At 1.064 urn, the two-photon absorption (TPA) coefficient /B, the nonlinear refractive index y, the real part and the imaginary part as well as the absolute value of the third-order susceptibility X(3)were obtained to be 42 cm/GW, 3.84 * 10~(-17) (mVW), 6.24 * 10~(-19) (m/V)2, 5.79 * 10~(-19) (m/V)2 and 8.51 * 10~(-19) (m/V)2 respectively. It was found that the absolute value of x(3) was about 40 times as large as that of evaporated CuPc. At 532 nm, the excited state absorption cross section re, the effective third-order nonlinear refractive index ye([ and the correlated value of Re were obtained to be 3.4 10~(-17) cm2, 4.7 * 10~(-16) (mVW) and 6.3 * 10~(-18) (m/V)2, respectively. The large difference of x(3) between two wavelengths showed the presence of electronic resonate enhancement. Related studies of this section were published in Ada Optica Sinica and Mater. Lett. With 1.064 urn 38 ps laser pulses, the nonlinear refractive index n2 TPA coefficient (3 and the third-order nonlinear susceptibility %(3) of Palladium-octaisopentyloxy-phthalocyanine (octa-PdPc) doped ormosil were obtained to be 1.1 * 10~(-12)esu, 2.5 * 10~(-19) mVW, 33 cm/GW, and 1.6 * 10~(-13)esu, respectively. Significant optical multiple diffraction rings of the sample under cw Ar+ laser illumination at wavelengths of 457.9, 488.0 and 514.5nm were observed and studied. Both the number of rings and the size of the outmost ring were intensity dependent. Under the same incident power of laser, beams with different wavelengths had different numbers of diffraction rings and different sizes of outmost rings. The number and the size of diffraction pattern for the sample were the largest at the wavelength of 457.9nm. The second was at the wavelength of 488.0nm and the last 514.5nm. This phenomena of diffraction was used in optical limiter. Related studies of this section were published in Ada Optica Sinica and Opt. Matert. SrBijTajOg (SBT) Ferroelectric thin films on quartz substrates were prepared by the pulsed laser deposition (PLD technique. Nonlinear refractive index n2 of the SBT film was measured using Z-scan techniques with picosecond pulses. The sample was found self-defocusing. Large negative nonlinear refractive indices of 3.84 cnrVGW and 3.58 cmVGW were obtained for the wavelengths 532 nm and 1.064 /an, respectively.
